CALDER – William Brian: Passed away peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital with his family by his side on October 9, 2018, after 88 years of living life to the fullest while loving, working and hunting. BRAZIER – Arthur George: Passed away at his residence in Jarvis on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 while surrounded by his family in his 84th year. Son of the Late George and Rita Brazier. Much beloved husband of Helen Brazier. Loving father of Mark (Elly), Michael (Linda), Christine (Scott). Cherished grandfather of Gaby, Phillip, Nicolas and Natalie. PERSALL – Marion Lenore (nee. Wallace): Passed away at the Norview Lodge on Monday, September 24, 2018. Born April 11, 1915. She lived most of her life in Brantford before moving to Simcoe in the 1990’s. Predeceased by her parents William and Gertrude Wallace and her husband Jack (1985). She was the last of nine brothers and sisters. Survived by a daughter, Carole Ann Henderson (Jim) and a son, Leslie William (Bill). She had three grandchildren David (Fran), Mike and Andrew (Audrey) and six great grandchildren Tanya, Cassie, Zackery, Adrienne, Liam and Claire. Marion worked for most of her adult life. Among her jobs was a supervisory position at the Westinghouse Factory in Brantford. Marion was a straightforward, determined woman who spent her life taking care of people. She was serious by nature, but her laugh could be explosive and infectious. She was careful but always willing to help family and friends. She was once described by her Son in law as having the quality of “knowing the value of a dollar without being cheap”. Marion was a very independent woman that lived on her own into her nineties. In her final years she resided at Norview, where her caretakers would describe her as “independent and feisty”, Until her final few months, she was relatively mobile and very alert. Beloved wife of the late Jack Brown who predeceased her in November 2005. Predeceased by her sister Phyllis Hazen and her parents Marjorie Olga (Fonger) and Clarke Horne. Loving mother to Dave (Barb), Ralph (Brenda) and Nancy (Randy). Grandmother of Joanne (Mark), Julie (Paul), Jamie (Becky), Jaclyn, Brian (Rebecca) and Darren. It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Florence, on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the age of 91. Much loved mother of Ernest Hesketh (Carol), and Marilyn MacAloney (Gary). Cherished grandmother of Jennifer DeGruchy (Craig), Jeffrey MacAloney (Emily), and Evan Hesketh (Megan). Great-grandmother “GG” of Carley and Megan DeGruchy. Predeceased by her parents, Alex and Margaret MaDougall, brothers Alistair and Joseph, and sisters Hannah Joyce and Marguerite Hayne. Sadly missed by sisters Rita Love, Marie Moores (Rupert), special sister-in-law Alice MacDougall, and brother-in-law Percy Hayne. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews in the Maritimes and Western Canada, and honorary “Nanny” to many. Florence was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and eventually moved to Hamilton, Ontario where she raised her family. Her heart was always in Nova Scotia, and she made several trips “down home” through the years. Florence loved spending time with family. She enjoyed sleep-overs with her grandchildren, and was an avid hockey-grandma, school volunteer, garage saler, and bingo player. Cremation has taken place, and she will be laid to rest in Trenton, Nova Scotia. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 28 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Caledonia Masonic Centre, 173 Argyle St. N., Caledonia. Jagger, Vera (Oxenham) passed away peacefully at Norview Lodge, Simcoe on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the age of 95. From South Africa, Vera was pre-deceased by her husband, Norman (1997) and son-in-law Tim (2004). Vera is survived by her children Ivan and Joan, grandchildren Barry (Chris) and Kristy (Andrew), great grandchildren, Kiera, Daniel, David and Caitlin and many extended family in South Africa, England, Australia and New Zealand.
Vera was very family oriented and loved spending time with family. She enjoyed many wonderful family vacations in South Africa and Mozambique. She also loved animals, especially her dog, Jock, and spending time in her garden.
A private cremation has taken place and a family Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
