Swift, Charles Alan “Swifty” of Dunnville,Ontario at the age of 60 passed away peacefully on July 21,2018 leaving behind his two daughters, Sonya Streahorn and Crystal Swift and loving companion Renee Clayton. SMITH – George Eugene (Gene)

SMITH – George Eugene (Gene): Passed away peacefully on Friday July 20, 2018 after 84 years of living, loving, working, fishing and hunting.  Son of the Late Orley and Grace Smith.  Beloved husband of Jackie (Gareau), Loving father of Lori Ryan (Scott), Kathy Kingsley (Tracy), Scott Brown (Dale), Christine Mathews (Joe) and Raymond Brown.  He was an incredible Papa and “BIG” Papa to his many grandchildren.  Gene will be fondly remembered by his many siblings and their spouses, nieces and nephews.  Friends were plentiful, always eager to hear one of his tales.  Gene never truly retired and spent many years working alongside his best friend and neighbour Stan Szatrowski keeping a watchful eye over the pumpkin patch from those dreaded deer.  Gene will be missed by many many people.  In keeping with Gene’s wishing cremation has taken place.  There will be a private interment of his cremains.  South Coast Funeral & Cremation Alternatives in care of arrangements.  Those wishing to make a donation in Gene’s memory are asked to consider a charity of one’s choice. www.southcoastfuneralservice.com

ROGERS – Frederick Gary:  September 25, 1932 – July 19, 2019.  Peacefully at Anson Place Care Centre, Hagersville.  Dear Husband of Susan.  Beloved son of the Late William and Nellie Rogers.  Brother of Harold (Late Marlene) Rogers and the Late Charles and Geraldine Rogers, Late Edward and Eileen Reading, Late Gilbert and Joyce Barber.  Father of Mark.  Fred was a Transport Driver in Hamilton for 40 years with Husband Transport and Route Canada.  Enjoyed hunting with work mates and annual fishing trips to Algonquin Park with nephews Fred and David Reading.  Special thanks to niece Marilyn Scott and husband Rick for their kindness during Fred’s very long illness and also the wonderful and caring staff at Anson Place.  Cremation has taken place. Swarts: Gerald Charles

SWARTS, Gerald Charles (October 3, 1939 – June 30, 2018). Gerry passed peacefully at home on June 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving family after a hard fought battle with cancer. Survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Carol (Hawke) and his two sons Shawn (Samantha Norval) and Chris (Tina Tilbury) and the late Shannon (Doug Graham); the loving Poppa of Zachary, Chase, Haven, Marley, Isaijah, Logan and the late Lucas. Also survived by brothers Keith (Donna), Glen (Paulie), Brian, Ron (Cathy), and sister Marilyn (Cooper). Gerry was born in 1939 and raised on a farm near Nanticoke. Always hard working, he managed two plants building trailers, then went to the American Can, then Ontario Hydro, and finally at the lift bridge in Port Dover. An avid sportsman, he was known for his years of refereeing hockey and umpiring baseball. He was an original member of the Port Dover Oldtimers’ Hockey Team and played for them for many years. His biggest passion was for the game of golf which he played whenever possible, including making his own clubs! Throughout his life his focus was always on his family, always there to help with any job or repair and always at the sports games of his children and grandchildren. His happy smile and cheerful nature will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Gerry’s Life will occur on August 7, 2018 at the Port Dover Community Centre, 801 St George Street from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Port Dover Minor Hockey or Port Dover Minor Baseball. FULLER – Sandra Rose:  Passed away at home on Friday, June 29, 2018 after a battle with ALS in her 74th year.  Daughter of the Late Albert and Louise Schweyer.  Much beloved wife for 50 years of William (Bill) Fuller.  Dear sister of Linda Link and her husband Ken, Doug Schweyer and his wife Sandy and Wayne Schweyer. Atkinson – Brenda Ann (nee Young & Church). Brenda, in her 64th year, passed away at home after an extended illness. Brenda was predeceased by both of her father’s Melvin Young and William (Ross) Church.  She is survived by her husband Brian, the love of her life.  She is also survived by her mother Joan Church (nee Fralick), brother Chuck (Cindy) Church, sister Pamela (Martin) Paddock.
