BOWERMAN: Donna May- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna May Bowerman of Brantford, after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Donna died peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in her 70th year. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, in the caring hands of Stedman’s Community Hospice in Brantford. Pre-deceased by her parents Robert and Dorothy (Frank) Jones. Donna is survived by her loving and devoted husband David, her daughter Krista Zilkey (David) and her son Jeff Benz (Monique). Proud and cherished Nana to Carson, Brooklyn, Emmaline and Olivia. Also survived by her beloved sister Karen Robertson (John) of Burlington and her sister-in-law Linda Vantwuiver (Jon) of Meaford. Donna will be deeply missed by her mother-in-law Lillian Bowerman, her nieces Michelle and Marsha, her nephew Eric, her uncle Bob, cousins Jennifer, Anne, Bradley and David, and their families. Donna worked many years in the Laboratory at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe, and most recently for Dr. Wilson Leung’s office in Brantford. We are so grateful for the love and support of all her friends, family, neighbours and co-workers. Donna touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed. The family would also like to thank her wonderful home care team Irena, Sherry, Amanda, and Dr. Singh; the amazing and caring staff and volunteers at Stedman’s Community Hospice; Dr. Tozer and the oncology staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre; as well as Andrea and Dr. Heather Ringrose of Waterford. Cremation has taken place. Following Donna’s wishes, there will not be a visitation or funeral. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.     Krista and family I am so very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Donna is going to be greatly missed she always had a warm welcoming greeting for everyone she came in contact with. Krista as a wise person once told me hold each other tight share the stories of your Mom and she lives on in you forever. RIP Donna your work here is done shine brightly in the heavens above.
