Chris Silverthorne

Chris Silverthorne

Funeral Director, Owner

With over 20 years as a Funeral Director and Embalmer, Chris Silverthorne is the owner of South Coast Funeral & Cremation Alternatives Inc. Chris has an extensive background in all aspects of funeral service, including helping families in need after the death of a loved one. Emotional distress, confusion and financial limitations are very difficult things to deal with, especially after the death of a loved one when they tend to happen at once. Choosing the right Funeral Service provider is important, and that‘s why Chris has been very successful in Funeral Service. Offering compassion, empathy and a genuine care for people who need help in the most difficult time of their lives is why Chris decided to become a Funeral Director at the age of 16 with the idea that reasonable priced funerals which everyone can afford should also provide superior service, with a keen focus on listening to a family’s wishes. This prompted Chris to open his first Funeral Establishment in 2000. Since then, his pioneering ideas on Funeral Service have been validated by families across Southern Ontario. Chris is a proud alumni of Humber College‘s Funeral Service and Mortuary Science program. He has also been an examiner for the Board of Funeral Service’s Practical Embalmer Exam, and spends his off hours at his farm near Springvale, Ontario.
